Sofitel: Een uitstekende Front Office Management stage:

MAIN DUTIES: 

Under the guidance of the Front Office Manager, to fulfil the responsibility during the whole internship successfully.

ADMINISTRATION

  • Establishes and maintains effective employee and inter – departmental working relationships
  • Ensures that a good atmosphere and mutual assistance are maintained within his/her department and other departments.
  • Attends and participates Briefings and other meetings as required by the Front Office Manager.
  • Implement the Hotel Policies and Procedures.
  • Provides an example for the team and customers (presentation, behaviour, elocution, etc.), compatible with the brand image that the company wishes to convey.
  • As a host, he/she is primarily available, warm, friendly, smiling, open.
  • Anticipates the customer’s expressed and unexpressed expectations.
  • Shows some charisma and ability to co-ordinate people.
  • Expresses what is going well and what is not. Analyses variations and suggests solutions.
  • Decides on solutions for problems and situations, determines action in compliance with his/her area of autonomy and in co-operation with his/her first-line supervisor.
  • Provides suitable initiatives and decisions, in emergency situations too.
  • Shows permanent motivation to maintain impetus.
  • Knows and analyses his/her environment and his/her mission requirements.
  • Performs related duties and special projects as assigned.

FINANCIAL AND REVENUE RESPONSIBILITIES

Controls and analyzes on an ongoing basis, the level of the following within department

a)    Sales

b)    Costs

c)    Condition and cleanliness of facilities and equipment

d)    Guest Satisfaction

e)    Marketing 

TRAINING AND HUMAN RESOURCES 

Establishes and maintains effective employee and inter – departmental working relationships

  • Ensure wherever possible that employees are provided with a work place free of discrimination, harassment and victimization.
  • Treat complaints of harassment and discrimination promptly and confidentially.
  • Treat customers and colleagues from all cultural groups with respect and sensitivity.
  • Identify and deal with issues which may cause cross cultural conflict or misunderstanding.
  • ŸShows order, method and discipline.
  • Capable of self-criticism and multi-competency to react according to events and persons.
  • Copes with stressful situations through good self-control.
  • Assists the Front Office Manager to conduct language training to department and hotel employees.
  • To take initiative for being in charge of additional project that maybe assigned by the hotel management so as to develop multi skills

MISCELLANEOUS 

  • ŸAll ambassadors are required to comply with every reasonable request from their hierarchical supervisor(s) within an amount of time that it takes to comply under normal circumstances.
  • All ambassadors may be assigned to other duties in the hotel as and when required by business levels.

GENERAL DUTIES:  

Health and Safety

  • Ensure that all potential and real Hazards are reported immediately and rectified
  • Be fully conversant with all departmental Fire, Emergency and Bomb procedures
  • Ensure that all emergency procedures are rehearsed, implemented and enforced to provide for the security and safety of guests and employees
  • Ensure the safety of the persons and the property of all within the premises by fairly applying Hotel Regulations by strict adherence to existing laws, statutes etc
  • Ensure all staff within the department work in a manner which is safe and unlikely to give risk of harm or injury to selves or others
  • Use safe manual handling techniques and practice safe work habits following Accor Health, Safety and Environment policies, maintain procedures to minimize our impact on the environment and prevent pollution

Confidentiality

  • Ensure confidentiality and secure storage of all intellectual property and data bases, both hard copy and electronic. Adhere to Accor Internet and Email policy
  • Ensure Hotel, Customer and Staff information or transactions are kept confidential during or after employment with the company

To be fully conversant with:

  • Hotel fire procedures
  • Hotel security procedures
  • Hotel Health and Safety policy and procedures
  • Hotel Facilities and attractions
  • Hotel standards of operation and departmental procedures
  • Keys of Luxury and Appearance guidelines
  • Sofitel “BE Magnifique” vision and its corresponding strategies
  • Methods of accepted payment of the company
  • Short and long term company marketing promotions 

NOTE

The purpose of this policy is to enable the Human Resources departments in Sofitel Hotels to consistent, fair, comprehensive and precise job descriptions for their Ambassadors.

When accepted, your Head of Department will still work out a detail training plan based on your previous experiences and school assignments.

  • fluent English essential (working language)
  • another European or Asian language would be an asset
  • available for a duration between 6 month to a year (minimum 6 month)
  • must be adaptable and flexible (international working environment)
  • must be patient, dynamic and eager to learn as well as to participate in a daily
  • hotel life, with people who have different education and experiences
  • background
  • preferably hotel school background
  • if business school background, be ready to learn hotel-related skills such as
  • Front Office operations
  • able to use MS office applications
PROFILE & SKILLS

CONDITIONS
  • the trainee must have a training agreement (“convention de stage”)
  • the trainee must hold a passport valid at least one year and arrange the
  • student visa himself / herself
BORNE BY THE HOTEL
  • visa fees and work permit fee
  • accommodation, meals and laundry (maximum is as per the hotel policy)
TO BE BORNE BY THE TRAINEE
  • air ticket to and from the hotel
  • insurance expenses (medical, dental) as well as repatriation insurance (very important)
